A man in Onslow County has been charged with 29 counts of each of the sex crimes of first-degree sex offense with a child, crime against nature and indecent liberties with a child. He is held on bonds of $5.85 million in an Onslow County jail.

Authorities allege that the North Carolina man had indecent sexual interactions with three different children under 10 years old. It’s unclear how the man knew the three young girls ages 5, 6 and 7. The incidents allegedly occurred between 2003 and 2010.

News reports about the arrest have also not uncovered information about how the man was caught or what evidence led authorities to the man.

The man has previous North Carolina convictions, including hit and run in 2002 and breaking and entering in 2000.

Sex offenses are strongly prosecuted in North Carolina. A first degree charge of sex offenses with a child may lead to a sentence of at least 25 years in prison. A child in North Carolina is considered a child under 13 years old.

This is a felony charge with serious consequences. Anyone accused of a sex crime with a child should contact an experienced North Carolina criminal defense lawyer.
