Dominique Strauss-Kahn (DSK) opened up in his first live television interview with a French network station. In the interview, DSK admitted that he had a inappropriate encounter with the New York maid, but said that there was nothing violent or aggressive.

The maid has previously accused DSK of rape in a hotel room. DSK was charged with attempted rape by New York prosecutors who later dropped the charges because of credibility issues with the NY maid’s story and her past.

According to the New York Times’ review of the interview, DSK said that he was disappointed that his error prevented him from running for the French presidency. He said, “I am not proud of it. I regret it infinitely.”

The NY maid has since filed a civil suit against DSK for the incident that occurred in the hotel room. Another woman has come forward with allegations that DSK also attempted to rape her in 2003. The 2003 incident is being investigated by French authorities.

DSK went so far to say that the NY maid may be crafting a plot against him. He said that the allegations of the other woman who has accused him of rape were “imaginary and slanderous.”
