Second Student Claims Sexual Abuse By Fayetteville Teacher

First arrested last week on sex offense charges, a fourth grade teacher at Long Hill Elementary School was recently rearrested after another teen came forward with similar complaints of sexual abuse. Bradley Dent has taught in the Cumberland County Schools for seven years and is currently suspended from his teaching position while the investigation into the alleged sex offenses involving minors continues.

Dent faces charges of second-degree forcible sex offense, first-degree kidnapping, sex offenses involving a juvenile and two counts of indecent liberties with a child related to the reported incidents that involved a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy on separate occasions. Investigators are unsure if there are more victims out there - the 15-year-old boy's parents' report of the alleged criminal behavior may have prompted the 17-year-old boy to come forward as well.

Dent had also worked part time for the Carolina Counseling Services but left that position earlier this year. The incident with the 15-year-old that led to the first arrest on sex offense charges may have occurred at the Fayetteville counseling center. The teen's parents first reported the incident in late spring, but Dent was only recently arrested as law enforcement claims it was investigating and gathering evidence.

In addition to being a teacher, Dent was a licensed social worker.
