A cheerleading coach from Concord, North Carolina, has been arrested on allegations that he committed sex crimes against children on his cheerleading team. The 19-year-old cheerleading coach formerly worked with Impact One North, a cheer organization based out of Concord. The organization no longer employs the man.

According to law enforcement officials, the man will face two charges of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He will also face one charge of indecent liberties with a child. Warrants for the man’s arrest show that the accuser was a 13-year-old, who attended the cheer organization where he worked.

Court documents indicate that the crimes allegedly began at the cheer facility and that the coach allegedly continued to stalk the 13-year-old. Documents further state that the man sexually abused the girl from March 2016 through April 2017.

The crimes that this coach has been accused of are exceedingly serious. If he is convicted of the crimes, he could be sentenced to prison for years, or even decades. As such, he will want to take his criminal defense seriously, and handle it with sensitivity and care.

It’s important to remember that whenever an individual is accused of a crime in North Carolina — no matter how heinous those crimes appear to be — that person will have the right to a criminal defense and representation by a qualified criminal defense attorney. Furthermore, no individual will be punished or seen as guilty for a crime until — and only if — he or she is proved to be guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
