Two Charlotte men charged with drug possession and trafficking

CHARLOTTE, N.C - Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have arrested two individuals in connection with a drug investigation in the vicinity of Sugar Creek and I-85 corridor. A total of 11 charges were given including possession and trafficking of several drugs.

According to a WBTV report, CMPD officers and the SWAT Team arrested Wendell McCain and Jarvis Reed on Jan. 24, 2020 for their alleged involvement in drug-related activities in a neighborhood near Sugar Creek. The two were arrested without incident. Police seized several drugs including cocaine, heroin, MDMA, and marijuana. In addition, police also recovered a stolen firearm, and a total of $4,433 in cash, the report said. There is an active and ongoing investigation of this case.

McCain and Reed were charged with the following:

  • possession of a stolen firearm
  • possession of firearm by a convicted felon
  • trafficking methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)
  • trafficking cocaine
  • trafficking heroin
  • possession of marijuana with intent to sell
  • felony possession of marijuana
  • felony maintaining a dwelling
  • possession of drug paraphernalia for marijuana
  • possession of drug paraphernalia not for marijuana
  • felony conspiracy
