Charlotte man charged for allegedly raping a woman at gunpoint

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – 25-year-old Terraries Leon Thomas was arrested by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police on December 14, 2019 for allegedly raping a woman at gunpoint. He is facing several charges including rapesex offense, and robbery.

According to a Charlotte Observer report, the woman and Mr. Thomas met each other through a dating website. The woman told police that she invited Mr. Thomas to her home on Mossburn Road, where she claims to have been sexually assaulted at gunpoint. Police said that the suspect also took property from her before leaving in a dark-colored vehicle. The alleged incident happened at Arwen Vista Apartments on Dec. 1, 2019 at noon.

Mr. Thomas was taken to the CMPD headquarters, where he was charged with the following offenses:

Police said that the investigation is still ongoing, and additional charges may be given. According to a WCNC report, the suspect has had nine prior arrests before this incident.
